THE BIG WEEKEND STORY
WVU SAE CHAPTER ON PROBATION FOR STEALING TREE

Brothers of West Virginia University's chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon have long road of retribution before make amends for stealing a tree from a Morgantown park and decorating it for Christmas.

Two students were said by police to have stolen a Blue Spruce tree from a nearby park and taken it to the Sigma Alpha Epsilon house to serve as decoration. One was a brother of the fraternity, while the other was not.

The fraternity was placed on probation by the university, ordered to pay $1,100 in restitution and to perform 500 hours of community service. READ MORE

THIRSTY THURSDAYS COULD BE CANCELED BY FRIDAY CLASSES

A shocking new study found that college students who don't have classes on Fridays tend to make a "Thirsty Thursday" slosh fest a weekly routine.

MONDAY'S BIG STORY:
MIZZOU SIG EPS ELIMINATE PLEDGING

Brothers of the University of Missouri's chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon have abolished pledging in favor of a program initiated by its national headquarters.

"We had a definite consensus that we needed to go in a new direction," the chapter's president Keith Ziercher told a Missouri newspaper. "Recruitment hadn’t been going well for a few years. We just needed to change."

Rather than pledging, the chapter chose to adopt the "Balanced Man" program for its new members, which will focus on their growth and development. Click Here to keep reading.
